I worked as a Registered Nurse in the ED during the cryptosporidium outbreak in Milwaukee.I have a Big Berkey with 4 elements for my family for daily use,and a Berkey Light for backup and camping.I could not be more pleased with them.Highly Recommended!

Well worth the investment. Our family uses this remove the chlorine and other contaminants that persist with city water. We used to use the small filter built into the fridge - very expensive and difficult to use. The Berkey is easy to use and the quality of the water in very noticeable- tastes great! Even better than from the refrigerator filter. I find myself drinking more water because it tastes so much better.

I originally bought this water filter as insurance that I would always have safe drinking water. I added the Berkey Light to my disaster preparedness kit about 5 years ago. After reading how effective the filter is, I decided to try it on my tap water. I immediately noticed the difference, the water tasted much better. It may sound strange but I feel good when I drink water now. Knowing that the water does not contain the contaminates listed on the web gives me peace of mind. Never again will I have to rely on someone else to insure that I am not polluting my body. This is the second time I have had to replace the Black Berkey elements, not bad 2 1/2 years for $99. Thank you for such a great product.

I have never seen a filter that removes so many contaminats from your water. I thought the British Berkefeld filters were good, but these berkey elements blow everything else out of the water.
